Just 2.5 hours from Sydney and Canberra, Bamarang Bush Retreat is a family-owned-and-operated business set on 120 acres of ancient bushland in a prehistoric river valley with handmade accommodation, offering privacy and seclusion amongst the gumtrees alongside the Shoalhaven River, 10 minutes west of Nowra.
meet your retreat leader: joh jarvis
Joh Jarvis has a background in journalism, where she worked at the ABC for 23 years and first found meditation highly beneficial in this high-stress environment. She trained as a Vedic Meditation teacher in 2014 and now teaches in New York, Adelaide, and Sydney. In 2021, she founded The Light Inside to teach meditation to incarcerated people, formerly incarcerated people, corrections officers, and corrections staff.

Sabi, a Vedic meditator, panchakarma therapist, is an exceptionally talented Ayurvedic chef whose culinary creations are renowned for their deep flavors, intuitive instincts, and unwavering high standards. His food is not only nourishing and creative but also leaves people feeling great during our retreats. Every dish, jam, chutney, dessert and drink is prepared from scratch, so there are no fillers or preservatives. You’ll leave feeling exceptionally looked after. Everything is prepared with Ayurvedic principles, truly rustic, heritage-style cooking using clean ingredients.
